About the event
This is a Donation based self-defence workshop - Rasing money for Bede House Domestic Violence Service based in Southwark.
(for all women & girls aged 13+)
This workshop is the best foundation for self-defence you can possibly get. Although only 2 hours, this is designed to address the best ways to respond to the most common threats ranging from low-level to high-level.
We will take highlights from the full Fight Like A Girl program and give every participant the best support, and most realistic approach to practical self-defence being a woman or a girl.
The Program is run by martial arts master & award-winning author 'Sifu Della O'Sullivan'. She developed this program specifically for women & girls based on her personal experiences as a survivor and also a martial arts expert.
This workshop is the best stepping stone before attending a course.

F.L.A.G is a comprehensive package on all things women empowerment and self-protection training.
We aim to cover all areas:
• theory on red flags, and pointers to see ahead of situations
• Chi-Kung - (Helps regulate breathing, regulate the nervous system, & reduces anxiety)
• Mentality, psychology, assessing a threat, setting boundaries (verbally and physically).
• training - everything that is taught has to be simple, direct, effective and require little or no force, the techniques taught are so that you can use perpetrator force against them.
• supporting a local domestic violence charity (Bede House
WITH EVERY TICKET YOU GET AN OPTION TO PURCHASE A SIGNED COPY OF DELLA'S SELF-DEFENCE BOOK WHICH CONTAINS ALL THE TOPICS WE COVER IN OUR VOLUME 1 COURSES AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
The book was featured on Stephs Packed Lunch (channel 4), BBC Radio, Sky News, & BBC Breakfast - released last May - published by Harper Collins 'FIGHT LIKE A GIRL'
Della spent 18 years training and teaching and became one of the highest-ranking females in her discipline. 2016 she was interviewed on BBC about her pending master's grade where she told her reason for outsourcing martial arts, to begin with, and told of her history of physical & mental abuse, which later led to stalking.
From that interview - women across the country contacted Della to ask if she has classes for women only, and so the next month Della set up Fight Like A Girl and ran her first workshop. The workshop was packed with women, some of whom had traveled across the country to be there.
Della soon put together a team and decided to make these workshops and courses more regular.
Every workshop gives key tips on relationship red flags, and the F.L.A.G team supports their charity with every event.
The Aim of F.L.A.G
To allow a safe space for all women to attend. Like Della, many have expressed feeling intimidated at the thought of signing up for a regular martial arts Class, and many do not know if they are ready to commit to regular training, so the workshops are an introduction to further training and allow all women to feel comfortable to just walk in the door.
